Innovative University Diploma in Intercultural Management launched by amU and Marseille au Pluriel Innovative University Diploma in Intercultural Management launched by amU and Marseille au Pluriel ==================================================================================================== CIVIS Highlights 20 January 2025 Managing intercultural interactions in a globalised business world at the centre of the new University Diploma (DU) *Intercultural management: interacting in a professional environment,* launched by Aix-Marseille Université (amU) and the Marseille au Pluriel association and run by Polytech Marseille. The programme, the first of its kind in France, is aimed at those wishing to master the tools needed to navigate effectively complex multicultural environments. ![](/storage/files/a-press-conference-was-held-in-december-2024-to-announce-the-launch-of-the-diploma.jpg) ©AMU The internationalisation of companies, the increased mobility of professionals and social and cultural diversity are now an integral part of the professional world. However, current training courses often neglect intercultural skills, despite their growing importance. This diploma fills this gap by offering theoretical and practical courses enabling students to understand cultural dynamics within companies. They will acquire practical skills for managing diverse teams, resolving conflicts and negotiating in intercultural contexts and will be able to study and use professional cultural codes to promote cohesion and collaboration. > *This degree makes perfect sense in a world where our students, future managers and engineers will have to manage interculturality within major international companies",* said the President of amU, Éric Berton. A response to today's challenges -------------------------------- The course, open to amU students and education professionals, covers subjects such as: - the foundations of corporate culture and intercultural management; - theories on national, ethnic and professional cultures; - analysis of individual strategies in multicultural contexts; - management of cultural shocks and intercultural conflicts; - introduction to intercultural negotiation. The format combines face-to-face and distance learning courses, case studies, group work and practical placements to anchor learning in real-life professional situations. This project, conducted by a specialist in interculturality, is the result of a collaboration with the Marseille au Pluriel association, which is committed to making cultural diversity an asset in reducing social fractures and strengthening social cohesion.
